It's wild out here!

Before we moved into the house, my dear neighbor Laura warned us that there were coyotes, among other animals around here. I must say I was really excited. Well, we moved in and really didn't see anything out of the ordinary i. e. pheasants, hawks, lizards etc. Last week we were woken up by what sounded like barking, but it wasn't a regular dog barking.. it was coyotes! we didn't see them, but the next few nights the same thing happened, until finally today, we got to see one! Those things are sooo cute!!! and I had to take pictures

All moved in.

Well, we did it, we finally moved into our house. We've been living here for about 3 weeks now and I love it! I still have a ton of boxes to unpack, my only problem now is too much room and not enough furniture. Oh well, I've been looking at the ksl.com website looking for good deals on stuff but, it seems like a lot of the people trying to sell their stuff want full retail price for things! and about our house not being fully furnished well, all in time right? we're here to stay for a long time!

New Family Member

Introducing Todd, our new dog. He's such a funny little Rattie! (rat terrier), we love him. although the last few weeks have been hard with all the training, so we are going to  take him to petsmart, they have a dog training school, we'll need all the help we can get..

 A lot of family/friends have been asking why we are not posting any more pictures on fb. Well I realized that there's just too much access on facebook and I only want the people that we know and love to know where our house is and how it's coming along..
 I've taken hundreds of pictures everytime we go out there. ( I swear our new neighbors must think we sleep there) but we don't!! we just like seeing it come together! this has been a great experience for all of us, And YES, we are very eager to move in!

Christensen house 7/28/11

This is what our house looked like today. The framing is no longer there, is has now been covered by drywall, and it looked like the stucco equipment was just waiting for the green light to get started.

The house

We really have to get used to not call our house "the lot" because it's not a lot anymore, there is a house there and it is coming up fast!.
As usual, i didnt do posts for the following weeks, and i would have to figure out what week we're on. So far house is up, framing, then trusses. Roof is up and insulation, check. Next week will be dry wall, i have picked my kitchen cabinets, doors, etc. I will post some pics now and more tonight. I am super excited. Our neighboors are awesome! And i register the kids at their new school next Tuesday.

weeks 4 and 5.

woo hoo! there's a lot of progress, in fact Hyrum and I had to decide on windows, shingles, and stucco color and style. to be honest I was a little nervous because it all had to be done in a rush but I think we decided well and everything is looking like it's running smoothly. Yay! Framing of the house will begin sometime next week and after the framing is done, everything should go super fast, I hope.

week 3

Not much has changed since last week, its been so wet that they still can't pour the concrete, so we have to be patient and hope that mother nature helps out this coming next week. On a side note, we visited the lot last week and let the kids run around and play, when we heard a loud thud, It was Katie who had tripped on a string and landed on  the hole and was soaked with muddy water. sorry, no picture of that as she was really mad and wouldn't let us take one..   :-D. we love you K.!

Week 2..

Well, there is really not much change, except they've started digging, you can actually see the hole in the picture. This Utah weather is CRAZY, May is almost over and it's still snowing in the mountains.. All I can say is, "mother nature, you better make it up. make the summer last a little longer.." Going back to the lot. We are hoping that the weather warms up a little so they can finish digging and lay the concrete. yay!

This is what I love....

I can't believe how fast kids grow. Josh has been a great big brother and has been reading to his sisters every night for the last month or two. It's so cute that when I say, "ok guys, bed time" they get ready and go to the girl's room and they will lay down next to him.. I love it!

Our future home.

After months and months of looking for a good lot to build our house, we finally found a great spot with great views of the lake and mountains, we absolutely love it!

We closed about 2 wks ago and now we're just waiting on the city on approve some things (soil, drainage etc) hopefully they're all minor things and Cam can get started digging and I think all that is taking place this Monday. Woo hoo!!

So we decided we're going to post pictures each week to see how it all comes together. "we, we, we so excited" (like Rebecca Black would say).

Frustration strikes..

This is a total random post (very common of me) I'm on a caffeine high, so don't mind me..
I must be ovulating. Actually, I know I am, I've been feeling super tired these last couple days, It's killing me. I cannot look at my self in the mirror because I all I see is a super fat version of me..
Truth is, I'm more toned than ever before, I've lost so much weight but I just don't see it right now. Hyrum and I hired a personal trainer a few months ago and we love it! we really look forward to going every morning.
But it's been a couple months since I became a "woman" again. I literaly hadn't had my period in over two yrs (because of pregnancy, nursing, pregnancy and then nursing again.) so This "going back" it's really killing me..
Today I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed my big hips, and a couple love handles.. ugh. what an ugly sight...

confession: I went straight to the "secret drawer" and popped a caffeine/fat burning pill... what have I done? great. I feel jittery, my hands are super cold and my eyes are itching like hell!
Stupidest thing I've ever done..
I've learned my lesson.
So now, I have to wait until this thing wears off and be myself again.. sigh*

Soccer season

Katie's soccer season started this week with a game yesterday and a cancelled practice on Monday. Katie is getting so big. She was telling Hyrum yesterday, "Daddy, I know we will win this game because I know all my moves" :) She's so funny! We love you and even though your team lost by two points you did great, you really showed your "moves"!

It was so freezing at the game, she had to wear her coat, she wore it the whole game. She's such a cutie. She's growing up so fast!!

Welcome Spring!

It's here, it's here!! Today is officially the first day of Spring! I'm so excited to get out and run outside, take the kiddos with me. This year I have so many things (goals) I would like to accomplish, like run a few races. (I'm so not ready to run a marathon yet sorry) but seeing my husband run a marathon last year was a great example. I've never been a runner, so this is all new for me. I'm way excited! I got to experience a little bit of running last year and even ran a couple races. it was so much fun! I also want to get the kids involved, and I even got me some "minimalist" shoes. I was warned to take it slow with these though, But I feel so energetic, I just wanna get out and give my all! So, Hooray, Spring is here!!!

Potty training, check!

I thought this would never end. Potty training Ms. C. has been the most difficult thing I've had to do in a long time! after many failed attempts, she's done it! she's been accident free for 3 wks now!  phew! (pat on the back)
I've learned a lesson: "every kid is different" . I had a hard time understanding that (she's almost 3) and because Josh and Kate both were potty trained by 16 months I figured she'd followed the same pattern, but no! Mommy was wrong! I'm just glad it's over. No more diapers for this girly girl!
Now, I just have one more kid to train but since she's our last one. I'll let her choose when she's done with the diapers. ;)

chloee-isms

Ever since Chloee started to learn how to talk, she's always said a "word" that until now, we don't know what it really means. She still comes to me and says, "mommy, annah haña" and no, it doesn't mean "Hanna Montana" trust me, I've asked her and she would say "No, No". Now "annah haña" it's part of our daily vocabulary and we've made a new meaning for it, it simply is "I Love you" we love it, it's like "our secret word".

Being sick sucks

After taking care of sick kids for the last few weeks, I guess it was my turn now. Oh joy! it is after 10 pm and I am still wearing my pajamas. I just brushed my teeth, so I'm gonna call it a night. My throat is killing me and I lose my voice at night, been like that for 2 or 3 days, my nose is runny. Dear benadryl: would you work your magic on me tonight? thanks!

Just testing...

I have been a very busy Mom. I'd neglected this blog until today, I hope at least. Anyway, I took a free class from the library about blogging and I'm hoping I can get all my questions answered about this whole "blogging world" 
I wish I could catch up on everything that's happened since my last post in '09 but that is NOT going to happen. And if you're a close friend or family member, you should know that since then, we've had another baby who is now 1 yrs old now. Wow, time flies!


So I will not get too fancy about this blog until I finish the blog class ~(crossing fingers)~. If I'm not able to post any pictures, be patient. they will come, eventually..
