Soccer.

We signed Josh up for indoor soccer, we want to get him into as many sports as we can because he loves them. so we had the opportunity to get him into this little soccer league that only went for a month, they played on Wednesdays and Saturdays it was so much fun for everyone! their team only lost one game they did pretty good and I didn't know that Josh knew the basics of soccer like kick the ball, run with the ball, don't use your hands... :)

Today was his last game of the season and we can't wait to sign him up for spring/fall soccer. Its going to be so much fun! last year he did baseball and he's really good at it and he'll also play baseball this summer.. how exciting I'm going to be so busy I can't wait!!

Sad bird story..

My cute little Kiko

The idea of having new baby birds had me very happy. Kika laid 5 eggs around Christmas and we waited, and waited for them to hatch so we got tired of them not hatching and noticed Kika hadn't been in the nest for a while.. We came to the conclusion they needed to be out of there before the Kika would get frustrated or depressed, so on Sunday we got them out of the nest, they were cold as can be and we cracked them open to see if they were fertile.. well, they were very fertile you could see the little fetus inside it was gross but needed to be done.. Two days ago we noticed that Kika was looking really fat again and figured she would start laying eggs AGAIN... and she did. I checked the nest yesterday and there was one little eggie in there so I covered them up so they could have some privacy. Last night I wondered if they were already sleeping, I took a peek at the nest and found something horrible. I felt my heart drop to my stomach when I saw my cute male Lovebird dead.. Kika was laying next to him and my first reaction was to blame the female bird for the death of her partner... Hyrum came to help me out because I was in shock, we've had those birds since Christmas 2007 and they cheered us up every morning with their singing especially Kiko who was the tamest.. I am still trying to figure out how he died. Hyrum said he must have died from an infection he had had for a while in his wing that was never treated. To me, it looked like it was healing just fine, he was even starting to grow new feathers but I guess I'll never know... I'm now in a dilemma as to what to do with Kika, she's laying eggs, again.(who knows if they're fertile) I'm sure they are. and I don't know if she will be depressed to not have Kiko with her anymore. And if the eggs hatch as hoped we'll have those baby birds hand fed and that is a BIG responsibility.

Bye bye ugly tooth!!

Josh had his dentist appointment for a "wiggle" today. Everything well very well except I thought they were just going to "wiggle" the tooth so it would fall by it self but instead we came home with the so called "UGLY TOOTH" we are all so happy is gone and we are ready for the new one that had been waiting in line to come in..

What, no birdies?

Kika, my female lovebird (or so we think...) laid 5 eggs a little before christmas, well the eggs haven't hatched. I kinda figured they weren't going to be fertile since it was the first time she ever laid eggs but I was still hopeful. I checked the eggies yesterday and they were nice and warm but she's been so over protective that she will literaly attack me if Iget close (but somebody's gotta do this right?) today she scattered them all over her nest and the eggies aren't warm anymore. I don't know what the heck she's thinking? were are my little baby birdies?! I'm really sad that I'm probably going to have to throw them away :( how sad is that? well maybe she'll lay eggs again during the summer. I was reading a lovebirds gestation period is 22-25 days so its been over that already and they are great breeders, they have a 75-80% rate of the eggs hatching but I suppose this isn't the case... We'll have to see what happens next time...

well there's one eggie, but where are all the other ones? and as you can see she is about bite me!!!

Fun?

It amazes me how kids can have fun with just anything!!. a couple of days ago I caught them playing with Chloee, they will put her in a laundry basket and push her all over the house, they'll pretend she's driving around. The other day I saw them put Chloee inside Katie's little shopping cart (they put pillows so she's comfortable) and they also push her, and Josh has been obsessed with his wii mario kart, he will give Chlo the little wii wheel and pretend she's driving.. its so funny to watch!!

Dentist

After going to a couple of dentists for the kids with no luck, we finally found one that we all liked (especially the kids, especially Katie) I had been so worried all this time because Katie would not let any body touch her, she is way to shy. My cousin Lyda told me about her kids dentist, he's a pediatric dentist (well why didn't I think of that?) all the dentists the kids have seen were regular dentists and we had horrible experiences with their staff (don't go to young family dentists the kids were so scared they did not want anything to do with it)
We went to see Dr. Markham he's super nice and his staff is awesome! Katie finally let them check her teeth and neither one of them have any cavities!! The main reason we went to the dentist was because Josh has had problems with his teeth, one of his permanent tooth is jagged and crooked so they took some x-rays and turns out that this little guy has "extra teeth" don't ask me how that works but he does! you could clearly see that he had another tooth erupting right on top of the "ugly tooth" and he has another one that is growing both ways, Dr. said that one would be a problem because it could erupt into the nasal cavity so he's going to need surgery (great!) but that won't take place for another 6-12 months. Next week we will be going back to the dentist to have them "wiggle" his "ugly tooth" so it can fall off and let the other permanent tooth come out but it will also come out crooked so he'll definitely need orthodontic care. both of them...

I asked for a photocopy of the plates and you can't really see to front top teeth those are the worse ones..

Chromophobia

I love color especially bright ones but I'm so afraid of it and I don't know why... the walls in my house are a light brown color but after painting these vaulted ceilings I decided I wouldn't paint them again because they are such a pain (unless I have somebody else do it for me :D ) and I know that we will be putting the condo up for rent/sale some time in the near future but I have been wanting to add some color and I can't seem to get out of my "I'm bored with it now red that I have going on currently". I kinda like the classic look, a lot of neutrals but lately I've been wanting orange walls and greens and blues and reds and yellows, bright yellows oh my! I just don't know how to use them, how to put them together... phew!

I've been redecorating the girls room and I went to return a blanket at burlington coat factory and went to Pier 1, (bad bad idea) they are having this sale (they always do) and I found this cool very colorful looking jute rug on sale and after debating for 2 mins if I should take it or not I did, now its at my house and I had just bought fabric to make pillows for our couches that don't match the colors of the rug but still I think I LOVE it and I'm going to start redecorating the living room/kitchen area I'm so excited and we'll have to see how this turns out because I get bored very easily and most likely I'll be changing the decor in like 3 months. we'll have to see...

Rug

Chloee's got earrings!!

I finally took Chloee to get her ears pierced. I just kept putting it off because I hate going to the mall but on Thursday I said to Hyrum "okay this girl needs earrings" so I invited him to come (bad, bad idea) boys don't go to these kinds of things, especially not daddies! I learned my lesson. Hyrum was so upset when Chloee started crying. I personally don't think ear lobe piercings hurt but you never know with an infant since they don't talk just cry but by the way she cried I could tell that she was really really mad. Well today Chloee is doing much better. I can now twist the earrings to prevent them from getting stuck and I put antiseptic 2x a day. and she looks so cute, daddy did a good job picking her earrings and Hyrum says she looks more feminine.. ? :D I just think she looks gorgeous!!

you can barely see the earrings. They are pinkish so they kinda blend with her skin..

2008

does anybody agree that 2008 went by quick just like 2007? what is going on? is it just me? In the blink of an eye I've been married 2 yrs, I've had a baby, Josh turned 8 and is soon to be baptised and my little baby Katie is becoming an independent little girl now. The year went by fast, true but it's brought us so many blessings; Hyrum adopted Josh and Katie and gave them his last name, that day at the court will be unforgettable, to have all our family join us for that joyous moment, but the best was being able to go to the temple the next day to seal Josh and Katie to us for eternity. Another great thing that happened to us was the birth of our daughter Chloee, she's such a little angel we love her so much. I'm so blessed to have my family, that everyone is healthy. I'm blessed to have my parents and sisters whom I love so much and would do anything for them and I know they would do the same for me. I'm blessed with Hyrum's family, I love them all!. I'm blessed to have my wonderful 3 little angels who complete my life. I Adore my husband so much and I'm so blessed that he feels the same way for me too. I'm so excited for this new year, I know it will be a GREAT!!
